Larson • King is committed to developing a diverse group of attorneys and employees who mirror the community in which we live and practice. Our firm is an active member of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice, a consortium of leading law firms and corporations dedicated to attracting, recruiting, advancing and retaining lawyers of color. Larson • King is also an active participant in the Leadership Council on Legal Diversity, a national organization of chief legal officers from Fortune 500 companies and law firm managing partners dedicated to improving diversity in the legal profession.
"We aim to foster an inclusive, energized workforce, not merely as an aspirational target, but as a key business strategy. How we do business shapes, in significant ways, our relationships with our employees, clients and the various communities in which we do business. Being a stellar citizen means understanding the impact our firm has within those communities."
Lawrence R. King Managing Partner
Our firm regularly participates in several programs that further our goal of growing a firm and a culture rich in varied attributes, background, experience, gender, race, sexual orientation and talent. These programs include the Minnesota Minority Recruiting Conference; the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice 1L Summer Rotation Clerkship Program which exposes promising first year law students to private practice at Larson • King and in-house practice with our valued client, 3M Company; and the STEP-UP summer intern program for inner-city high school students.
Larson • King also supports diversity initiatives in the broader community. The firm funds a college scholarship for a local high school student of color through the Saint Paul Area Chamber of Commerce Foundation and their Career Investment Scholarship program. We also assist the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota in their work with newly arriving refugees by providing funding for their summer Hmong law clerk. |
