Larson • King Attorneys Win Summary Judgment For Prominent National Insurance Broker
02/08/2008
The attorneys at Larson • King recently won summary judgment for their client, a prominent national insurance broker, on claims brought against it by a corporate policyholder. The policyholder had sued both the professional liability insurer and the national insurance broker, after the insurer denied all coverage to the policyholder for an underlying lawsuit. The Honorable James Rosenbaum granted summary judgment from the bench against the insurer, holding that the procured insurance policy provided coverage for the underlying lawsuit, and there was no actionable misrepresentation claim. Therefore, any claim against the insurance broker for failure to procure insurance coverage was moot. The national insurance broker was represented by Paula Duggan Vraa, Mark A. Solheim, and Caryn Boisen of Larson • King.
