Larry King appointed to Federal Practice Committee
01/01/2010
Larry King has been appointed to the Federal Practice Committee for US District Court of Minnesota starting January 1, 2010. Committee members serve a three-year term.
The Federal Practice Committee is appointed for the study of the Courts rules of practice and to assist the court in implementing uniform local rules. The committee meets periodically to review the District Court’s Local Rules and, based on that review, recommends proposed amendments or new rules to the court, responding to the needs of the court and directions of the Judicial Conference. The committee comprises experienced federal court practitioners, a district judge, two magistrate judges, and federal court staff. The committee also considers ways to publicize the rules, involve the legal community, and which educational opportunities should be considered and pursued for newer members of the federal bar.
