Larson • King sponsors Equal Justice Benefit honoring individuals who have advanced justice in significant way in Twin Cities09/27/2005 The 2005 Equal Justice Benefit The Council hosts the Equal Justice Benefit annually. It is one way in which we increase the visibility of and raise funds for our work. It is also an opportunity for us to present our Equal Justice Award to individuals who have advanced justice in a significant way in our community. Penny and Mike Winton were the honorees at our event this year, which took place on October 6th; at the Weisman Art Museum. The Wintons are the perfect recipients. They play key civic roles in this community. Their generosity enabled the Council to launch a major study on race issues in Minnesota’s justice system, and their stature and enthusiasm about our work has drawn others to our ranks, including many of our hosts listed here.
