Sam is a commercial litigator with experience handling complex business disputes, including shareholder and ownership disputes, breach of contract actions, breach of fiduciary duty litigation, and construction litigation on behalf of a wide variety of clients, from small, family-owned businesses to multi-national institutions. He also maintains a robust insurance coverage practice. He has substantial experience shepherding matters on behalf of his clients from pre-suit investigation and negotiations all the way through trial, arbitration, and appeal in state and federal courts.
Before joining Larson • King, Sam served as a judicial law clerk at the Minnesota Court of Appeals with the Honorable Judges Louise Dovre Bjorkman, Francis Connolly, and Michelle Larkin. He graduated from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, summa cum laude, where he served the Mitchell Hamline Law Review as an associate and as a managing editor. Before attending law school, Sam earned his B.A. magna cum laude from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa.
Outside of his law practice, Sam enjoys supporting Minnesota sports teams, taking in shows at the many performing arts venues in the Twin Cities, and being active in his local community.
