McCarthy, who, as the Chair of the DRI Center for Law and Public Policy’s Artificial Intelligence Working Group, has been recognized with the prestigious G. Duffield Smith Outstanding Publication Award for 2025 by the Defense Research Institute (DRI).
The award honors the AI Working Group’s white paper, Artificial Intelligence in Legal Practice: Benefits, Considerations, and Best Practices (2024), which explores the evolving role of AI in the legal profession and provides practical guidance for attorneys and firms.
This national recognition highlights the AI Working Group’s significant contributions to advancing thought leadership on the intersection of emerging AI technology and law. The award will be formally presented during DRI’s Annual Meeting this month.
