Welcome to Jason T. Johnson, Madison Fernandez, and Sadie Betting

  • 03/11/2021

Jason T. Johnson has joined Larson • King as an Attorney. Jason focuses his practice on business litigation, product liability, class actions, antitrust and unfair competition.

Before joining Larson • King, Jason served as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Wilhelmina M. Wright and the Honorable Steven E. Rau of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. As a Judicial Clerk to Judge Wright and Magistrate Judge Rau, Jason worked on a wide variety of cases and gained unique insight from the perspective of the bench into the process of a lawsuit, from discovery through final judgment. Prior to his clerkships in federal district court, Jason clerked for the Honorable John R. Rodenberg of the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Jason graduated summa cum laude and third in his class from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. During his final semester, Jason completed a legal residency at a large law firm in Washington, D.C. Since graduating, Jason has returned to Mitchell Hamline as a member of its adjunct faculty, teaching civil procedure to second-year law students. Jason also stays connected to his alma mater by serving on Mitchell Hamline’s Alumni Board. See Jason’s full profile here.

Madison Fernandez will return to Larson • King this summer as a 2L Summer Associate. “My experience as a 1L Summer Associate at Larson • King was incredibly rewarding,” Madison recalls. “The firm provided me opportunities to work in different areas of the law, and I was able to improve my legal research, document drafting, and client communication skills. I am excited to be returning this summer to continue learning from such an experienced group of great attorneys,” she says.

Madison is a 2022 J.D. Candidate at the University of St. Thomas School of Law, where she was elected as Editor-in-Chief of the Law Journal for 2021-2022 academic year. Last semester, Madison completed a business externship with the in-house legal department at a large Minnesota corporation.

Sadie Betting will join Larson • King as a 1L Summer Associate this summer. Sadie is a 2023 J.D. Candidate at the University of Minnesota Law School, where she is a member of the Women’s Law Student Association (WLSA). Prior to law school, she worked at a government software contractor and as a referee in the NCAA.

Sadie joins Larson • King as a participant in the Twin Cities Diversity in Practice (TCDIP) 1L Summer Rotation Clerkship program. Larson • King partners with the 3M Company’s legal department to provide TCDIP clerks with opportunities for professional development and mentoring.
