Steven focuses his practice on business litigation, intellectual property, antitrust, employment, and appellate practice.
Before joining Larson • King, Steven served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Elise L. Larson at the Minnesota Court of Appeals, where he gained valuable insight into appellate advocacy and judicial decision-making.
Steven earned his J.D. from Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he ranked sixth in his class, served two years on law review, and earned a dispute resolution certificate. While in law school, he clerked at a full-service Minnesota law firm, gaining broad experience and developing a passion for solving complex, nuanced legal issues. He brings that analytical and solution-orientated mindset to Larson • King, helping clients navigate challenging legal issues with thoughtful, practical solutions.
Drawing on almost 20 years of experience in high-performance athletics, Steven brings a disciplined and strategic approach to his legal practice. Before entering the legal profession, he coached NCAA Division I hockey and elite amateur athletics at the national and international levels. His experience included managing a multi-million-dollar budget, leading recruitment, and navigating NCAA compliance. He also practiced sport psychology, counseling elite athletes and serving as chair of Sport Psych Manitoba. As a former collegiate hockey player and endurance athlete, Steven understands the value of preparation and adaptability, qualities he applies to every client matter.
Outside the office, Steven enjoys spending time with his wife and two daughters and staying active in the outdoors.
